A pioneer in the field of empowerment, Gail Straub co-directs the Empowerment Institute, a school for transformative social change where her primary focus is women¹s empowerment. For the last three decades she has offered her work to tens of thousands of people throughout America, Europe, Russia, China, Africa, Afghanistan, and Asia. She co-founded IMAGINE: A Global Initiative for the Empowerment of Women to help women heal from violence, build strong lives, and contribute to their communities. IMAGINE initiatives are under way in Afghanistan, Sudan (Darfur), South Africa, India, and Nigeria. Gail has consulted to many organizations furthering women¹s empowerment including the Chinese Women¹s Federation, the Russian American Humanitarian Initiative, Women¹s Leadership Center at Omega, World Pulse, and Women for Women International.

Gail is the author of four books including, with her husband David Gershon, the best selling Empowerment: The Art of Creating Your Life As You Want It, the critically acclaimed, The Rhythm of Compassion: Caring for Self, Connecting with Society, and the awarding-winning feminist memoir Returning to My Mother¹s House: Taking Back the Wisdom of the Feminine. Her greatest passions are women¹s empowerment, engaged spirituality, and writing books.
