Zahava Griss transforms energy and intimacy through dance. As the founder of Love Making Dances, she uses innovative performances and shamanic teaching to deepen the union of the body and soul in dancers.  Her artistry creates a field of consciousness for the audience that cultivates trust and love across power lines including gender, race, and class.

Her training as a professional dancer includes working with legends such as the Joffrey Ballet, Katherine Dunham, and Urban Bush Women. Her training in the spiritual arts includes extensive work in tantra, sexual shamanism, Anusara yoga for birth, and Sufi Dance Meditation. Prior to founding her company, Zahava served as a core educator at the Deepak Chopra Center in New York from 2005-2010, co-directing Sundays for Peace: Spiritually Sustainable Activism.

Her workshops and performances have been presented at national conferences, televised on BET, at the Kennedy Center, Joe's Pub, the Blue Note, Jacob's Pillow, Dance Place, the annual NY Midwifery conference, the internationally respected Farm of Ina May Gaskin, and the Theatrical Bellydance Conference.
